The race will be held on routes in the Region of Peloponnese and West Attica, with the auspice of the Hellenic Cycling Federation, following the regulations of the Hellenic Cycling Federation (EOP) and the UCI.

Registrations for the UCI Gran Fondo Greece routes can only be made on the registration platform from the moment registration opens.
Each person who wishes to participate in the event agrees to register as a member of the registration platform in advance. Therefore, the participant must complete the registration form and unconditionally accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. The participant undertakes to complete only the information concerning his identity. The Organiser may arrange special offers that may give you a reduction in the price of your race number. All registrations for an event are personal, final and irrevocable and refunds cannot be issued under any circumstances unless expressly stated in the Rules. Each entry generates a match number. Bib numbers cannot be transferred under any circumstances. Anyone who transfers the race number to another person will be held responsible in case the latter falls victim or causes an accident during the race. The organizer shall deny any liability in the event of such an accident.

The Organization reserves the right to limit the number of races available in the Event for security reasons.

Event prices may vary depending on your date of registration for the event.
The registration cannot be transferred to another person. I confirm that all information I have provided here is true and I know and am fully responsible that in case of providing false information, I am liable to the Organizer for any damage that may arise.
I acknowledge that I can withdraw from the race with the following restrictions:

• 0-90 days before the event 20% cancellation fee
• 89 – 60 days before the event 50% cancellation fee
• 59 – 15 days before the event 80% cancellation fee
• 14 – 0 days before the event 100% cancellation fee

Participation in Races

Categories

Participation is allowed for the following categories of athletes:

By participating in the UCI Gran Fondo, you participate in one of the sporting events organized or approved by sports federations. Therefore, to participate, you must provide one of the following:

  1. Valid HCF (Hellenic Cycling Federation) license for 2024.
  2. Valid National Federation license (from any UCI-affiliated Cycling Federation) for 2024.
  3. or, for those who do not hold such a license and are eligible to participate in these races, presentation of a medical certificate only or a copy thereof, which must be dated within one year from the date of the race.

On-site checks on the authenticity of medical certificates and licences will be carried out. Participants must be able to provide these items when they receive their match numbers or during the event.

19-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

The ages of the athletes are calculated based on the calendar year of birth (31/12), and not the date of birth. In order for an age group to apply, at least 6 cyclists or 4 cyclists respectively must be declared for the female categories, otherwise there will be a consolidation with the next largest and smallest age category.

Safety & Responsibility

Instructions

Cycling in general and competitive cycling in particular is a physical activity with risks. Each participant in the event must take part in the knowledge that he or she will be cycling on mountainous terrain with intense climbs and rapid descents.

The Organizer will put in place several measures to ensure the safety of the route: signposting, motorbikes, and signs indicating passages requiring particular attention. Throughout the course, participants must comply with the safety instructions and instructions of the race personnel (civil protection, motorcyclists, volunteers, etc.).

The safety arrangements for the race end when the finish line is crossed. Participants must respect the applicable highway code in all circumstances. However, a safety concept with an information car, safety motorbikes and a broom wagon, as well as marshals at junctions, will ensure that the race is supervised.

  1. At level crossings, participants must stop when a train passes.
  2. Roundabouts only passed on the right.
  3. Participants must ride on the right-hand side of the road.

Any participant who has had or witnessed an accident, or who needs medical assistance, is obliged to help others and to call the emergency number shown on his/her race number.

The participant remains solely responsible for any incident, accident, or breach of the event regulations. Any costs arising from medical attention (ambulance, doctor, hospitalization, etc.) are the responsibility of the participant concerned. The liability of the Organizer, its employees, and other auxiliaries for direct or indirect damage suffered by a participant as part of or in connection with his or her participation in the event is expressly excluded, whether in the event of accident, theft or damage of any kind. By registering, you confirm that you are covered by this insurance and waive any legal action against the Organiser.

Motorised assistance or private following vehicles on the course are strictly forbidden. Offenders will be reported to the police.

By registering, each participant confirms that he/she has read all the information, particularly that relating to safety, and undertakes to comply with it.

Equipment

During Event

All participants must carry with them throughout the course and for the duration of the event:

  1. A rigid helmet, with a chinstrap fastened,
  2. A mobile phone with a charged battery,
  3. A bib number, – A framed plate with the emergency number,
  4. A hydration system (water bottle or hydration bag).

In the event of adverse weather forecasts (heavy rain and cool temperatures), the organisers reserve the right to require participants to carry a survival jacket and blanket. Each participant is responsible for carrying equipment suited to the conditions on the day of the event.

It is forbidden to change bikes during the race. Riders may use any type of bike (road bike, mountain bike, city bike, hybrid bike, cross bike, etc.) except for electric bikes, tandems and handcycles or recumbent bikes. In road races, time trial bikes are prohibited. However, electric bikes are allowed on the Randofondo course.

During the qualifying events for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships, all bikes may be inspected to check that they comply with UCI regulations. For further information, please consult the following additional explanatory documents:

Participants are free to wear the jersey of their choice in the qualifying rounds.
